Why do dogs love the sun? Beagles ESPECIALLY love the sun!

1. Warmth and comfort - Like many dogs, beagles enjoy the warmth the sun provides, especially since they have relatively short coats that don't provide as much insulation as some other breeds.
2. Ancestral instincts - Because beagles were bred as hunting dogs and spent a lot of time outdoors. Soaking up sunlight may connect to their natural instincts to be outside, catching that sunshine.
3. Vitamin D production - While dogs primarily get vitamin D from their diet, some sunlight exposure does help with vitamin D synthesis in their skin.
4. Relaxation - The warmth of the sun can be calming and relaxing, helping beagles (who are very energetic) to settle down and rest.
